Chris Behler is in his 10th season with the San Jose State University men's soccer program after beginning his tenure as a graduate assistant for the 2003 season. 

In addition to serving as the Spartan assistant coach and recruiting coordinator, Behler directs several club teams in the area. He led the 2007 Mount Hamilton Lobitos boy's U17 team to the US Club Soccer U17 Super Group title at the National Cup IV.  His squad won their nine games by a combined score of 39-7.  In the summer of 2012, his U17 Central Valley Chillipeppers played in the Region IV championship final and competed in the USYSA National Championship.  In addition, he has led nine other clubs to state and regional championships. 

For three seasons prior to his arrival at San Jose State, Behler worked as the girls soccer assistant coach at Presentation High School under legendary Spartan Mani Hernandez.  In 2003, he helped guide Presentation to a Central Coast Section title and in 2002 to a co-championship.  Also in 2002, he was an assistant with the Hartnell College women's team in Salinas, Calif. which made its first-ever playoff appearance. 

Behler has experience with the Olympic Development Program (ODP), serving as an assistant coach with the girl's U17 District II ODP team in 2002. He is on the Super Y-League ODP staff, and is a scout for the Western Division. He holds NSCAA Master Coach and Premier diploma’s, and is a regional staff instructor for the NSCAA as well as a Region IV ODP coach for the last three years. 

He lettered in football, lacrosse and soccer while attending Sonoma State University from 1989-91, and was a member of the team that finished runner-up at the 1991 NCAA Division II Men's Soccer Championship. While at Sonoma State he earned a bachelor's degree in business management, with a minor in marketing. 

A native of San Jose, Calif., Behler currently resides in his home town.
