The Shockers¹ starting quarterback for three seasons, he was regarded as one of the nation¹s top passers .
He completed more than 50 percent of his passes while throwing for 3,822 yards, third-most in Shocker history .
His 336 career completions set a school record that stood for nine years .
Led the Shockers in passing and total offense each of his varsity seasons .
Ranks third in career total offense with 3,993 yards.
He totaled 439 yards of offense, 329 of that through the air, against Drake in 1975 to set a WSU record.
Strong and elusive at 6-foot-3, he was a threat running the football as well as throwing .
One of only four Shocker quarterbacks ever to rush for 100 or more yards in a game .
He accomplished that feat twice .
Finished his career in dramatic fashion, engineering a 30-13 upset of Tulsa on ABC Television .
He passed for 237 yards in that game, including an 84-yard touchdown toss .
His mark of 661 pass attempts stands second in the Shocker record book .
Noted for his passing accuracy, he produced the lowest interception ratio in school history .
Went on to perform in the National Football League with the Seattle Seahawks from 1977-82. Inducted, 1995.
