George Collier (Cross Country/Track, 1979-84)

One of only four Shockers to earn All-America status in cross country .

  • Placed 27th in the 1982 NCAA Cross Country Championships at Bloomington, Indiana .

  • Toured the 10,000-meter course in a time of 30:56.6 .

  • Placed first in the 1982 Missouri Valley Conference Cross Country Championship .

  • Ran the 5-mile test in a time of 24.58.8 .

  • His WSU cross country records for 4 miles (19:04.0) and 5 miles (23:48.4) still stood at the time of his induction .

  • Established four WSU distance records in track .

  • Set the indoor marks for the 3,000-meter run (8:14.40) and the 3-mile run (14.12.23) and the 10,000-meter run (29.43.3) .

  • One of 15 Americans chosen to participate in the 1983 Hapoel Games in Israel .

  • Placed third in the 5,000-meter run.
