Roberto Saad (Tennis, 1980-84)One of the top collegiate tennis players in the nation during his career at Wichita State from 1980-84.
Achieved NCAA All-America honors in both singles and doubles competition in 1983.
Advanced to the quarterfinal round of the NCAA Singles Championship that season.
He and Paul Smith teamed in doubles competition to advance to the semifinals of the NCAA Championships.
Earned a singles ranking as high as No. 5 during the 1984 season.
Won Missouri Valley Conference singles titles three consecutive years.
Teamed with Brod Dyke in 1981 to win the No. 1 MVC doubles crown and garnered the title in 1983 with Paul Smith.
He and Smith also teamed to win the 1983 ITCA National Indoor Doubles Championship.
Was the first WSU player to win an ITCA-sanctioned event when he captured the singles title at the 1983 Milwaukee Classic.
Posted victories over some of the top players in the country during his career, including Jimmy Arias and Paul Annacone.
Amassed a career singles record of 86-34.
Went on to play tennis professionally following his career at Wichita State. Inducted, 1997.
