Statesboro, Ga. - "Day One," originally set for August 22nd, has been rescheduled for Monday, August 29th, after thunderstorms swept through the Statesboro area this evening. This new tradition aimed at increasing student participation and attendance at GSU athletics events will take place at 9 p.m. at Paulson Stadium, a week later than originally planned.

The pep rally, welcome and orientation will instruct Georgia Southern students on athletics traditions, chants, cheers and what it means to be an Eagle.

The "Voice of the Eagles," Chris Blair, will emcee the event which will include speeches by University President Dr. Brooks Keel, Head Men's Basketball Coach Charlton Young and Head Football Coach Jeff Monken.

Join GUS, Southern Pride, the GSU Cheerleaders and Freedom as Georgia Southern students learn the rich history of our storied programs and what it means to be an Eagle on game days in Statesboro.

Come tailgate in the parking lot and show our students how it's done, Eagle Style!

Gates will open at 8 p.m. and the first 1000 students to arrive will receive a True Blue towel. Also 91.9 the Buzz will broadcast live from the event.
