Long-time high school coach Pete Scott is in his sixth season as an assistant coach on Mike Rappl's staff. Scott coached softball at nearby Depew High School for a total of 26 years, with 17 of those seasons as the school's head coach. For the 2010 season, he will work directly with the team's outfielders, while also assisting with the development of the Golden Griffins' team bunting and slapping offense.

He retired from teaching English at Depew High School in June 2005 after 33 years of service. In addition to teaching and coaching, Scott also served as the Student Senate Activity Advisor at Depew for 25 years.

Scott helped lead the Wildcats to five sectional titles and nine divisional crowns, and was twice named the Section VI Coach of the Year. He served as the ECIC Softball Chairman for 13 years and the Section VI Softball chair for 12 years. In 2005, Scott was honored for his work to promote the game by being inducted into the Western New York Softball Hall of Fame.
