Coach Joe Stowell Award

Introduced in 2007, the Coach Joe Stowell Award, is presented annually to recognize the male and female student-athletes who best exemplify Stowell’s love for Bradley Athletics, as well as dedication to their teams and teammates.  Stowell has been directly associated with Bradley Athletics for nearly 60 years, first as a student-athlete from 1946-50, then as a men's basketball assistant coach from 1956-65, the second-winningest men's basketball head coach in program history from 1965-78, an assistant athletic director from 1978-85, the women's basketball head coach from 1981-83 and the men's basketball radio analyst since 1985.  In 56 seasons, Stowell has been witness to 1,543 men's basketball games in his various roles and he has attended countless other Bradley Athletics events as an avid fan of his beloved Braves.
