The pitching star of the 1982 College World Series team ...Set a Shocker record with 18 victories in 1982, a mark which led the nation that year...Named first-team All-American in 1982 by All-American Baseball News, and was selected as the 1982 NCAA Pitcher-of-the-Year...Also all-District and first-team all-MVC in 1982...Won all three of his starts in the NCAA South Regional and College World Series, hurling shutouts in two of those three games...His six shutouts and 166 strikeouts in 1982 stand as Shocker records...Struck out a record 15 batters against Indiana State in the championship game of the 1982 MVC tournament...His 14 complete games in 1982 rank him second on the WSU season listing...His .882 career winning percentage (30-4 record) ranks him third all-time in Shocker history...He was the No.1 pick of the Minnesota Twins in the 1982 draft, and spent the 1983 season in Minnesota, and the 1986 season in Cleveland...A native of St. Louis, Missouri...Inducted, 2003.
