In 1996 was second-team All-America by Baseball America and third team by Collegiate Baseball...Starting third baseman for most of four years... He was the 1996 MVC Player-of-the-Year and also earned first-team all-MVC honors in 1994, 1995 and 1996 after being left off any team in 1993 when he led all hitters in league games with a .451 average...CoSIDA Academic All-American in 1994 and 1995...Earned 1994 all-MVC tourney honors, hitting .308 with two home runs and three RBI, marking the second consecutive year he’d been named to the MVC all-Tourney team...Named to 1994 and 1995 GTE/CoSIDA Academic all-District VII team and 1995 and 1996 first-team academic all-Valley...Earned all-tourney honors at the 1993 Atlantic Regional, topping all hitters with a .500 average (10-of-20) with two RBI and two triples... Named 1993 First-Team Freshman All-America by Baseball America and Collegiate Baseball... Represented the United States on Team USA in 1995 and 1996...A native of Indianola, Iowa...Drafted in the ninth round of the 1996 draft by the Toronto Blue Jays, and reached the majors with both the Blue Jays and Twins...Inducted, 2003.
