WILMINGTON, N.C. – UNC Wilmington’s students, faculty and staff contributed more than 200 productive units of blood to the American Red Cross as part of the Colonial Athletic Association’s annual Blood Challenge Thursday at the Warwick Center Ballroom.

The total of 201 productive units collected over the six-hour period topped last year’s total and marked the first time UNCW contributors had surpassed the 200 mark.

“We’re very proud of the support everyone showed,” said Rodney Young, academic coordinator and advisor to UNCW’s Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC). “We had a great turnout from our students, faculty and staff. Hopefully, this will help save lives.”
