The Georgia State men's basketball team took time out from preseason practice to volunteer for another worthy cause, working Saturday morning at the American Heart Association's Heart Walk.

Thousands of walkers participated in the event, which began and ended at Turner Field and traversed through much of the Georgia State campus.

The Panthers began the morning by leading the walkers in stretching and warmup exercises.

As the walkers completed their trek, team members greeted them and spread the word about Georgia State basketball.

Pounce and the Georgia State pep band were also on hand to encourage and entertain the walkers.

Saturday's event was the third major community service project for the Georgia State basketball team this fall. The Panthers also participated in the Big Brothers Big Sisters picnic and volunteered for the MS Bike Atlanta ride.
