2007-08 (Sophomore Season) - Became a two-time All-American following eighth-place finish at NCAA championships (March 20-22) ... placed sixth at Big Ten championships (March 8-9) as fifth seed ...went 2-2 in league championships after he was forced to medical forfeit his fifth-place matchup against Penn State's and fourth-seed Bubba Jenkins ... of two wins, topped 2007 NCAA finalist Ryan Lang of Northwestern, 5-3, in sudden victory ... completed season with 26-11 record ... posted fourth-place finish at Las Vegas Invitational (Nov. 30-Dec. 1) after recording wins over sixth (Jordan Burroughs, Nebraska) and eighth (Morgan Atkinson, Cal State-Fullerton) seeds ... tallied 4-1 record at 2008 NWCA Cliff Keen National Duals (Jan. 12-13) ... four wins included impressive victory against No. 4 Jenkins of No. 1 Penn State ... beat Jenkins, 10-7, to help Buckeyes go up 12-0 over the Nittany Lions and eventually post 24-11 victory to finish fifth ... won nine-consecutive matches until he faced Lang at National Duals ... won five-consecutive matches heading into Big Ten championships, including victory over third ranked Dustin Schlatter of Minnesota (Feb. 24); able to pin Gopher in 3:19.

2006-07 (Freshman Season) - All-American as true-freshman with fourth-place finish at NCAA championships (March 15-17) ... became first true-freshman since J.D. Bergman to garner All-America laurels ... advanced to semifinals of national stage where he met Michigan's Josh Churella for fourth time during season ... two wrestlers' previous bouts had occurred in semifinals of Eastern Michigan Open, dual match-up in Ann Arbor, Mich., and semifinals of Big Ten championships ... nearly pulled off upset at NCAAs, but Churella prevailed with 5-2 win ... went 4-2 at nationals, downing four ranked wrestlers, including No. 7 Scott Ervin of Appalachian State ... did not give up a single point to No. 1 Dustin Schlatter of Minnesota in third-place matchup at nationals (Schlatter earned win on riding time advantage) ... earned third-place finish at Big Ten championships (March 3-4) ... during conference championships, four of five opponents were ranked in Top 20 of USA Today/NWCA/InterMat polls ... compiled a 3-1 record at league championships, losing lone match to Churella in semifinals in close 3-2 finish ... in that run, defeated No. 15 Dan Vallimont of Penn State twice (9-3 and 4-0) and No. 19 Matt Coughlin of Indiana, 4-2 ... personal highlight came when he defeated No. 2 Churella, 6-4, in overtime, in dual action in Ann Arbor, Mich. (Feb. 11) ... placed third at Eastern Michigan Open (Nov. 4) ... won first collegiate dual against Missouri's Josh Wagner, 1-0 (Nov. 16) ... one of two Buckeyes to finish with more than 30 wins on the season with a 34-15 mark.

St. Edward - Four-time Ohio High School State Champion (2003-2006) ... just second wrestler in Ohio High School wrestling history to pin his way through sectional, district and state tournaments (junior year) ... owned high school career record of 150-6 en route to several tournament wins and individual accolades ... 2006 Senior National Champion at 140 pounds ... two-time Most Valuable Wrestler at St. Edward High School (2004 and 2005) ... recorded most pins on high school squad in 2004 (21) and 2005 (24) ... part of 2006 high school squad that won its 10th-consecutive team title and 22nd overall ... in 2004, was Ohio Division I State Duals MVP and Asics IronMan National Champion ... two-time Beast of the East champion ... three-time MIT champion ... third-place finisher at 2005 Junior National Tournament at 140 pounds.
