2007-2008:  Indoor Tabbed All-Conference as a member of the 4x400M Relay team, which finished second at the Southern Conference Championships earning a time of 3:50.09... Ran a school best time of 2:16.43 in the 800M at the Southern Conference Championships...Helped post the third best time in school history as a member of the Distance Medley Relay team with a time of 12:41.15.  Outdoor Shared the team’s Most Improved award with Ashley Bush-Hardy...Broke the school record in the 800M with a time of 2:15.28 at the SoCon Championships... Was a member of the 4x400M Relay team, which broke the meet record at the Irwin Belk Invitational with a time of 3:48.91.     

 

2007 Cross Country:  Was one of the top three runners in the fall for GSU...Finished second to teammate Abby Bloom in three out of six meets during her first collegiate cross country season...Ran a personal record time of 19:56.69 at the Auburn Invitational...Posted a time of 20:18.36 at the Southern Conference Championships.

 

2006-2007: Indoor Career best of 1:00.91 in the 400M...Set a personal best in the 800M with a time of 2:27.17. Outdoor Helped in leading Georgia Southern to the SoCon Championship last spring...Set career best of 26.43 in the 200M...Set a personal record in the 400M with a time of 57.92...Also, set a personal best in the 800M with a time of 2:21.23.

 

2005-2006:  Transferred to Georgia Southern did not compete.

 

2004-2005 (University of Alabama Birmingham):  Indoor   Helped UAB to an Indoor Conference USA Championship. Ran the 500M in 1:16.65 at the Meyo Invite. Outdoor    Assisted the Blazers to a title at the Alabama Relays...Member of the school record setting 4x400M Relay team (3:40.58)and qualified for regional met at the Conference USA Championships.

 

Prep:  Competed for Straight Ahead from ages 8-13, then GA Fire at 14...A national contender in each event all but one year...Awarded Most Valuable Runner...Attended Lithonia High School competing under head coach Ken Henderson...Three-time letter-winner...Helped the Bulldogs achieve a county championship (2002) and four region championships (2001-2004)...A state qualifier in the 4x400M all four years...Finished third in the state her senior year in the 400M...Team captain for three seasons...Graduated in top ten percent of class with a 4.0...A member of the Beta Club...Made the honor roll every year.

 

Personal:  Born Shauntel Nicole Jennings on January 21, 1986 to parents Michael and Cheryl Jennings...Friends call her “Shaun”...Describes herself as thoughtful...Claims coach Tony Bennett has biggest influence on her life as an athlete because he was the first to see her potential, introducing her to track...Pre-game meal consists of lots of carbohydrates...Favorite place on campus is the lake at lakeside...Majoring in exercise science.
