A sparkplug for UNCW’s baseball team in the late 60s, Sandy Dew played centerfield for the Seahawks from 1966-69 and batted over .300 all four years. He led the team in stolen bases and runs scored all four seasons and was named the team’s MVP when the Seahawks won the NAIA District 26 championship in 1967. A two-time All-District 26 selection, he was an NAIA Honorable Mention All-America and signed with the Cleveland Indians following graduation.

Dew joins his father, Eugene, as the only father-son inductees in the membership. The elder Dew was a member of the 1999 class.

A 1969 graduate of UNCW with a double major in mathematics and physics, Dew is president and chief operating officer of Dew Oil Company in Delco, N.C.
