Judith Russo Caserta begins her 26th year at Canisius College and is responsible for the day-to-day business operations of the athletic department, including overseeing the individual budgets of the 20 Golden Griffin athletic teams, monitoring travel and recruiting expenses, providing compensation for officials and serving as liaison with the College's business office and human resources. Caserta received the title of assistant athletic director for business operations during the summer of 2012 and is also the sport supervisor for the rowing program.
Caserta served as the Golden Griffins’ senior women’s administrator from 1997-2000. She prepares the Department of Education Equity Athletics Disclosure Act, along with the NCAA Audit of Agreed-Upon Procedures.
After graduating from Canisius, Caserta was the business manager of the family-owned Russo Chevrolet dealership until the business was sold in 1988. Caserta was hired as the Director of Accounting at Canisius in 1989 and was named the Athletic Business Manager the following year. During her tenure at the College, Caserta has served in many roles and capacities, including chairperson of the MAAC Women’s Lacrosse Committee and the MAAC Finance Committee. She currently sits on the NCAA Intercollegiate Athletics Financial Reporting Advisor Committee.
Caserta graduated from Canisius in 1980 with a bachelor’s degree in accounting and has over 30 years of accounting, organizational and management experience. She received her Master of Science in Sport Administration in 2008 from the College. Her Masters' internship was serving as the General Chair of the 46th annual Porter Cup golf tournament in 2004. Away from Canisius, Caserta enjoys spending time with her family, golfing, cooking and singing the National Anthem at local sporting events. She resides in Youngstown, N.Y., with her husband, Tom (’77), and son, Anthony.
