First team All-America for North Dakota State in 1987 and a three-time All-North Central Conference selection, she led the Bison to their first NCAA Final Four appearance in 1986.  She played on NDSU teams that compiled an overall 162-50 record over four seasons that included three NCAA tournament appearances and four straight North Central Conference runner-up finishes.

She was twice an all-region selection and was the Bison team captain as a senior.  She ranked fourth all-time on the Bison kill assists chart (4,096) upon induction.  She had an NDSU playoff-record 28 digs against Sacramento State in 1986 and averaged 11.04 assists per game over 24 NCAA playoff appearances.

She continued her volleyball career after college and was a three-time USAV All-American playing on the national runner-up team in 1996 and the national champion team in 1997.  Her squad was the 30-and-over national runner-up in 1999.

She graduated from NDSU with a double degree in medical technology and corporate and community fitness, and worked as a medical technologist at MeritCare in Fargo from 1991 through 1997.  She is the senior director of sales for Mary Kay, Inc., working and training over 80 women to run successful businesses.

A native of Albert Lea, Minn., she played volleyball and basketball in high school, captaining both squads.  Her husband, John, was a wrestler at North Dakota State.
