A man of all seasons for North Dakota State, Krumrei earned letters and recognition in three sports -- football, basketball and baseball. Krumrei was a two-year starting cornerback for the 1968 and 1969 national championship football teams. He was named to the Little All-America second team by the Associated Press in 1969. An All-NCC performer in 1969, he holds the schools record with 16 pass interceptions, including seven in 1969 when he returned two for touchdowns. Krumrei finished with a .351 career batting average on the baseball diamond as a three-year starter at both second base and first base. He hit .364 and collected 25 RBIs to spark the 1969 NCC championship team, and he finished sixth in the nation in home runs (7) while earning a spot on the 1969 NCAA all-regional baseball team
