Esposito became the first Bison quarterback to earn first-team All-North Central Conference honors. “Fiery Frank,” who stood only 5-foot-8, 165pounds, was the first NDSU quarterback to throw for more than 1,000 yards in a season (1,025 on 71 completions in 171 attempts and 9 TDs in 1953). He led the NCC in passing for three seasons. He was honorable mention all-conference as a sophomore and first-team All-NCC in 1952 and 1953. Also a starter at defensive back for the Bison, he established single-game and season records for pass interceptions. Went on to have a successful coaching career at his prep alma mater, Chicago’s Fenger High School.
