Ordahl was tabbed by his Bison coach -- the late and legendary C.C. (Casey) Finnegan -- as the finest football center to play under him during his 13-year career. A three-year letterman, Ordahl captained the 1929 Bison and, along with Hall of Famer Cy Lonsbrough, was selected the same year to play in the all-star game between the top players in the North Central and Rocky Mountain Athletic conferences. The All-NCC team won the game, 13-6, on New Year’s Day in Denver in 1930. Called into federal service with the North Dakota National Guard in 1941, Ordahl fought in both World War II and the Korean conflict. He retired from the Army as a Colonel in 1964.
