University of Idaho senior Steve Matlock is one of four Sun Belt Conference players among 58 FBS players to earn mention on the Rimington Award Spring Watch List, which annually recognizes the nation’s top center.

Matlock (Boise, Idaho) played as a true freshman and spend his first two seasons at guard before moving to center in 2015 to replace four-year starter Mike Marboe – a three-time Rimington Watch List player.

Matlock’s transition to the position was seamless as he helped the Vandals produce their first 1,000-yard plus running back (Elijhaa Penny) since 2007 in addition to providing the protection for the nation’s 27th-ranked passing offense.

As a freshman starter on the 2013 team, he was one of just 13 FBS true freshmen to start in an offensive line position.
