Vandals Add More Talent

MOSCOW, Idaho – The University of Idaho Track & Field program is thrilled to announce the signing of middle distance runner Emily Wesseling. She hails from Milton, a suburb of Toronto in Ontario, Canada.

Wesseling has personal bests of 2:14.50 in the 800m and 4:38.02 in the 1500m. She placed 10th in the OFSAA Championships in the 1500m in 2015. Her personal bests ranked her 17th in the 1500m in all of Canada for athletes under the age of 18 and 25th in the 800m for un­der 18 athletes in 2015.

Wesseling has competed in cross coun­try as well throughout high school, placing as high as 21st in the OFSAA Championships. When not competing for Mil­ton District High School, Wesseling runs for Speed River Track Club out of Guelph, Ontario.

“We are thrilled to add Emily to our Vandal family. She is a talented middle distance runner, who is pretty new to the sport. She has a big up side and I believe will do some great things here at Idaho.” -Tim Cawley, Director of Track & Field/Cross Country.

Wesseling intends to major in International Studies at Idaho.
